Cafe Amalia

Tucked away in the leafy backstreets of Armadale Melbourne, is a petite Bistro – Cafe Amalia, owner Christian Janko, previously of Melbourne french royalty France-soir wanted an interior that were reminiscent of the cafes he dined in, growing up in his native Austria and the entire composition inside and out is a beautiful homage to Christian’s late mother, Amalia.
Set behind a charming period shopfront with old timber doors and stain glass windows, customers dine in a warm and elegant environment, over 3 separate rooms. The old timber floorboards are accompanied by a soft grey palette of luxurious leather banquets, painted concrete flooring and grey veined marble table tops. Whilst gorgeous copper pendants hang lowly in the little window booths, creating a beautiful and intimate backdrop for the feminine, gold logo, designed by Swearwords and hand applied in gold leaf by Vital signs.
